The first thing I want you to remember is that everybody is capable of anything.

We live in a society that has so many hierarchies that work in tandem to oppress and exploit people and predators are frequently protected and rewarded. It is a society that makes it hard for victims to speak, be believed, much less get justice. Money, and the power one gains from having it, serves as armor and the more money and power one has, the more they are able to move through society protected from the consequences of their actions. But money doesn’t erase the constructs of race, gender, ability, attractiveness, size, etc and these things will also work in tandem to empower you, often at the expense of someone else and all of these constructs change the narrative.

Much like any group with concentrations of both money and power, actors with star power are often protected. Depending on the optics of the situation, this shit will be spun in whatever direction will cost the people with the most financial stake want it to be. That is how you can have Ezra Miller still the lead in the Flash movie. They had the leverage to keep their chosen in the lead. Majors was a huge investment for Marvel — the Kang storyline is at the center of this phase of the franchise. This investment has provided Majors with a huge amount of protection — and everybody is capable of anything.

I’ve seen people get the tiniest taste of power and lose their fucking minds. The petty tyrant manager who times your bathroom breaks. The scheduler who ignores your scheduled days off. The emotionally manipulative teacher who picks on students in front of the class. The cosplayer who gets a little bit of popularity and uses it to manipulate lesser known cosplayers. The religious leaders with numerous SA accusations. The scout leaders who caused the coverup of hundreds of SA cases against the Boy Scouts of America. Harvey Weinstein only faced consequences for decades of abuse — and to be honest, he’s an outlier. Bryan Singer has been openly accused of abuse and since the 90s and only recently has seen any potential consequences. Hollywood protects its monsters. Just like Wall Street does. Just like Congress does. Just like “the church” does. Just like the police dept does. Just like your local school board does. Just like your family does.

Everybody is capable of anything.

We aren’t…
