Post: Been thinking about this since I posted it. Capitalists strategically deprive us of the autonomy that would allow us to care for ourselves & each other. Then they say that we don’t want to take care of ourselves. We turn around & accuse each other of the same. What a mindfuck.
Quoted post: We actually want to care for ourselves but you are preventing us from doing so. The premise of capitalism is that workers take care of capitalists. Slaves take care of their owners. It’s the slave & worker labor that feeds, clothes, houses & funds yachts for the capitalist class
This has been an ongoing struggle for me because I have known for a long time that this is a losing gambit but I don’t know how not to participate.
When my dad was declining, I went to my job to ask if I could work a part-time schedule so that I could spend more time with him.
They said no. Within a day of that “no,” my dad lost consciousness and I was asked to come home because they felt as though the end was imminent.
It was. I was able to fly home that same day and be with him before he passed. He actually regained consciousness for a while, which nobody…
