You don't understand the definition of racism. What you are describing is prejudice. Bias. But not racism. Racism has a power dynamic that is not a part of this essay in any way. White people are at the top of the power dynamic ladder, which is why they can ignore centuries of general public health knowledge and claim they are discovering new ideas that have been in existence forever. It is also why they can continually screw up but still be extended the benefit of the doubt and space to continue screwing up. The response in the west to Covid-19 has been racist. Black people and PoC response to their continued ignorance is not racist. At all.

Power + Prejudice = Racism. That power only resides with white people in the west.
